Attachments follows a man named Lincoln who is hung up on a previous relationship. He is employed to read through flagged emails at a newspaper during the late 90s when computers were being introduced. He begins reading emails between Jennifer and Beth but instead of warning them for using flagged words in their emails, he grows to like them. The chapters alternate between following Lincoln and the email exchanges between the two women.

This story had an interesting character ARC for all three characters and even side characters. It was great to see the characters develop and find themselves throughout the book.

After having read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and enjoying it so much, I thought I would try this book next. I am torn between whether I find elements of this book strange or cute. There were moments of revelations which I loved. However, the actual love story of this book is a bit weird. Lincoln falls in love through reading email exchanges. However, someone that falls in love with him does so through hearing off-hand information and through watching him.

So I am not actually sure how I feel about this book. At first I was not sure if I even wanted to continue reading the book but then I got sucked into the story and just kept reading. I enjoyed reading about the characters as they grew and I liked the ending. Although, the ending did not feel as satisfying as it could have been but perhaps that is just me wanting more post-story chapters.

Overall, I liked this book and if you are looking for a fluffy contemporary then I would recommend it. This book may not live up to my standard of Fangirl but it was still an enjoyable read nonetheless.

Rating: 3/5 stars
