The Moon Eater (Gold Book 1)
by I. M. Bones
Genre: Dark Fantasy
Publication Date: 2019
Number of pages: 284
Goodreads - Amazon - Book Depository
Synopsis:
This book is set in London, present day and it follows a half-werewolf assassin called Gold and a detective called Curtis Walker who is investigating strange murders.
My thoughts:
It's been a while since I consumed media regarding werewolves but when the opportunity to read this book occurred, I thought I would give it a go. Parts of this book were very dark and bleak so I would not recommend it to those who can be affected negatively by this type of content. There were some issues with the writing in this book, for instance, there were comments that were problematic.
The book was written quite informally, it is from a first person perspective so we really get to see how the character thinks and feels. Unfortunately, I found the writing to be a little boring in that it seemed to take a long time for much to happen.
Although I didn't love this book, there are some positive points on Goodreads if you would like to check them out.
*This book was kindly sent to me to review, however, all opinions are my own.
