Popular YA Books: Have I Read Them?

I decided to take part in The Bookternet All Stars Charity Challenge where you go through popular YA books/authors and say if you have read them or not and what your opinions are! There is also a donation page for COVID-19 relief charities which I have linked below.

As I wrote this post, I noticed that I have some potentially controversial opinions so I apologise in advance! I feel like my reading tastes are very varied! So here is my post about what I have and haven't read:

Angie Thomas

I have read The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas but I have not read On the Come Up.

Shatter Me

I have not read this series and I don't think I will be reading it.

Leigh Bardugo

I have read Shadow and Bone which I enjoyed at the time but I haven't read on further into the series because I didn't really like the ending of the first book so I would like to keep it as a standalone in my head! I have Six of Crows on my shelf to read soon!

The Cruel Prince

I haven't read this book and I'm not sure that I want to read it after what I have heard is involved in this book.

The Bone Witch

I haven't read this book but I am interested in reading it!

Victoria Schwab/ V. E. Schwab

I have read Vicious and City of Ghosts, both of which I enjoyed. I rated Vicious slightly higher than City of Ghosts. I started the sequel to Vicious, Vengeful but I didn't really like it, I may try it again in the future. I have A Darker Shade of Magic which I have tried to read a couple of times before, I am going to try again as I have heard good things about this series.

The Lunar Chronicles

I have Cinder and I plan to read it soon!

Adam Silvera

I haven't read any of Adam's books yet!

Cassandra Clare

I read the first book in The Mortal Instruments series and I didn't love it but the concept was interesting. I have the first book in The Infernal Devices series as I have heard that this series is better so I am going to read that soon!

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

I haven't read this book, I may read it in the future. It is not a genre that I typically read but this book has been really hyped so I may give it a go.

Laini Taylor

I haven't read anything by Laini Taylor but I may try her books in the future!

The Illuminae Files

I read Illuminae and I didn't like it so I don't plan to continue this series.

Scythe

I read Scythe and again I didn't like it! There was a plot point that totally disappointed me and I just didn't enjoy the rest of the book.

Sarah J. Maas

I recently read Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight. I wasn't sure about Throne of Glass but by the time I got to the end of the book I picked the next one straight up! I really enjoyed these books after a while and I am going to pick up the rest of the series. I read A Court of Thorns and Roses and I didn't like it.

An Ember in the Ashes

I haven't read this book yet but I plan to read it soon!

Seanan McGuire

I read Every Heart A Doorway and I liked it but I didn't love it. I'm not sure if I will continue the series.

The Poppy War

I haven't read this book and I probably won't read it.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before

I haven't read this book, I watched the film on Netflix and honestly? I didn't like it, sorry everyone!

So those are my controversial(?) reading thoughts. Please let me know if you have done this challenge or if you had any similar (or different opinions) to me!
