Beth Mac: Part One (GRIM Book 1)

Whether it's the battlefield or the football field, Beth Mac is relentless.

Adored as much as she's feared, Corporal Elizabeth Mackenzie is nothing short of a full-blown enigma. Once awarded the Medal of Honour for her bold and arguably reckless efforts as a soldier, she eventually finds herself inching toward a different type of pedestal — one at Saint Judah's College.

With her eyes on the prize, she's on a mission to take the captaincy, whatever the cost. And one by one her competition violently fall.

Luckily, for Beth Mac, a doting boyfriend and a band of followers are far too easily manipulated for her to have to get her hands dirty. The school has its bets on the Grim Reaper being responsible. After all, that's who carried out the murderous rampage at the school just the year before.

Full of all your classic sorority debauchery, Part One will take you on a journey of mysterious happenings with a down-under twist and a whole lot of slaughter. Bloody, witty and outrageously mad, it's Macbeth like you've never seen it before.

Who knew football could be this deadly?

Poems written while living at Greenwood Lake, New York, while waiting emigration to Canada. Poems of love, passion and place.

Very well-written, recommended for anyone who can't get enough details and likes a lengthy read...The plot is quite entertaining with twists at almost every angle that keep the reader on the edge. --Fatima Aladdin, ReedsyDiscovery

Kimberly Greer wrote a story that portrayed the relationship humans often have with the truth when interacting with other people. There was nothing to dislike about this book. I rate it 4 out of 4 stars and recommend it to people who love an unpolished love story. --Unique Ego, onlinebookclub.org

From being denied by her birth parents to marrying the wrong man, Alexa Winston has learned to cope with disappointment and heartache by masking her true self from the world. Divorced and finally living on her own terms, she shrouds herself in half-truths and bravado, content to live her quiet, predictable life – until she finds the job and the man of her dreams. As she falls deeper into both, and into a world ruled by powerful players jockeying for influence and dominance at all costs, she’s forced to weigh her truths against reality. Trouble is, though she’s a master at detecting self-deception in others, she’s slow to recognize it in herself.

Masked Intent takes a taut, complex look at how we hide behind inauthenticity to guide us through our interpersonal relationships. It’s a timely and relevant story that asks a key question: what does it matter how many followers, likes, and upvotes we have if we no longer recognize the person we see in the mirror?

Masked Intent is the first installment in The Morality Plays Series and ends in a cliffhanger. The story concludes in Intents + Purposes, which publishes in early 2022.

The Truth About Change and Awakening: A Memoir

With wisdom and humor, Rachael DK invites us into her world as a writer and survivor, examining the truths and fictions we tell ourselves and others as we teeter on the tightrope between meaning and mortality, guilt and redemption, fear and courage, hope and change. The emotional and physical pains she journaled throughout her life are ultimately revealed to the reader. Her memoir offers a deeply personal yet universal tour of our hearts and minds and providing the rarest of gifts: a boldly revealing portrait of what it means to be human. So many of the author's struggles as a two time suicide attempt survivor, breast cancer survivor, chronic illness sufferer—though rare when combined, are a reflection that helps readers see things in a new light, and rediscover simple pleasures and everyday joy. It is the story of how any of us can begin to trust ourselves enough to set boundaries, make peace with our bodies, honor our heartbreak, and unleash our truest dreams so that we finally look at ourselves and say: There I am, the real me.

The Merest Loss

A story of love and political intrigue, set against the backdrop of the English hunting shires and the streets of Victorian London and post-revolutionary Paris.

When Harriet Howard becomes Louis Napoleon’s mistress and financial backer and appears at his side in Paris in 1848, it is as if she has emerged from nowhere. How did the English daughter of a Norfolk boot-maker meet the future Emperor? Who is the mysterious Nicholas Sly and what is his hold over Harriet?

Can Harriet meet her obligations and return to her former life and the man she left behind? What is her involvement with British Government secret services? Can Harriet’s friend, jockey Tom Olliver, help her son Martin solve his own mystery: the identity of his father?

The central character is Harriet Howard and the action takes place between 1836 and 1873. The plot centres on Harriet’s relationships with Louis Napoleon and famous Grand National winning jockey, Jem Mason. The backdrop to the action includes significant characters from the age, including Lord Palmerston, Queen Victoria and the Duke of Grafton, as well as Emperor Napoleon III. The worlds of horse racing, hunting and government provide the scope for rural settings to contrast with the city scenes of London and Paris and for racing skulduggery to vie with political chicanery.

The Merest Loss is historical fiction with a twist. It’s pacy and exciting with captivating characters and a distinctive narrative voice.

Under the Emerald Sky: A tale of love and betrayal in 19th century Ireland (The Irish Fortune Series Book 1)

"Under the Emerald Sky reaches another level in storytelling, the kind where the characters remain with you long after you have closed the book" – five stars and a bronze medal in the 2021 Book of the Year Contest from The Historical Fiction Company

Escape to 19th century Ireland in the first book in the Irish Fortune Series, a historical fiction novel that sets the stage for an epic romantic saga. In a land known for its scenery, folklore, myths and legends comes a heart-wrenching family drama set amid the stark contrasts between Britain’s wealthy aristocracy and the poor Gaelic-speaking peasants living on the aristocrats’ land.

It’s 1843 and the former British Army officer Quinton Williams has come to Ireland to oversee the running of his father’s ailing estate and escape his painful past. There he meets the Irishwoman Alannah O’Neill, whose family is one of few to have retained ownership of their land, the rest having been supplanted by the English over the course of the country's bloody history. Seeing the injustices of Victorian Ireland, Alannah’s brother Kieran has learned to hate the English and imperialism. Aware of Kieran’s hostility towards the English, Alannah keeps her growing relationship with Quin a secret – a secret that cannot, however, be kept for long from those plotting to end England’s oppression of the Irish people. As the military officer and the heroine seek happiness in the face of hate and revenge, an action-packed romance ensues.

But as the love story develops between Quin and Alannah, disaster looms – the Great Famine that would forever change the course of Ireland’s history. With repeated failure of the potato harvest upon which most Irish families depend, thousands will go hungry, with sickness and starvation sweeping through Irish farms, decimating poor populations for years to come.

Join the strong female protagonist on her journey in an Ireland on the brink of ruin.

Sepa 288 remembers her training.

She remembers her purpose.

She remembers her praise.

But the question pulls at her.

What are the Sepas forgetting?

In a world where memories can be stolen and The Family is always listening, an unlikely group of rebels will struggle to let go of their power and stand against prejudice in a race to remember the truth.

The SEPA Project introduces two peoples, the New Bhutanese and the Banjarians, who have lived side by side for centuries with only stories to imagine what the other might be like.

The divide between them is impenetrable.

One side, New Bhutan, is a bountiful society protected from the wasteland of Earth they call the Banjar by the barrier. They control all the resources and consider themselves the last of humanity.

The Banjarians live outside the barrier, creating a rich culture and way of life in the world they were left with.

After 300 years, the New Bhutanese are ready to see if the Banjar is healing.

The SEPA Project is born.

Sepas are modified as children, designed to enter the Banjar and record every detail of their memories. Every memory from the outside is emptied by The Family for study, so Sepas never know where they have been or what they have seen.

When one Sepa doesn’t quite fit her place, her mere existence sets off a series of events that will reveal the dark underbelly of their beloved society.

What would you do with the power to steal memories? What if you had everything to lose?
The Sepa Project is Book One of the trilogy. Cover art created by Kat Murphy.

JUST BE BOLD: Flaying Intrigue To Being You

In this release the young author and aspiring business man addresses the elephant in the room of life trough the self-help simple book, the #Self-motivation of individuals which is what he opened the book with whereby he made sure peoples learn to stay motivated from within and abstain holding back for the outside world to give them a pass to living a meaningful life with drive and value in this mean era we live in that always seem to impose it's ways and unfairness on peoples, the #Self improvement as an individual which the author did the very good work in the book where he evinced the significance of improving self before presenting your character to other peoples close to you either by heart, blood or even both where he states it clear to audience that an improved selfness is the improved attitude and character to self and to immediate loved ones or any other form of relationship incured by addressing the reason of failed #relationships and the vast grounds of these falloffs with peoples always shifting the blame absenting accountability.

The self love, acknowledgement and self exploration which also the author did well in addressing it in this fast, touchy and defying world by positing the significance of knowing, understanding and building self rather than going outside and adapting whatever is glorified by the many, he really did well as he was able to sum it all up and link it all to significance of solitude character from time to time just to have an intact personality and drive in this world that is sometimes moving too fast and in an inconsiderate manner that may result in some peoples living miserable lives due to that they cannot balance it out from having fair fun and being productive which are both crucial for a meaningful life but is rarely outlined on day to day talks.
